Frames are containers that can hold pictures, test, edit boxes, and many other items. In most screen readers you can hit the letter m to move from frame to frame, or Shift m to move backwards through the frames. How frames act can depend on your web browser, and your screen reader. You may need to look at a frames page with Internet Explorer, or with Firefox. You may need to try a different screen reader such as NVDA if your screen reader does not read the frames. Be aware that other content besides frames might be on the web page, therefore, you should check for items such as headings, tables, lists, etc. If there is a heading within a frame and you are not on that frame, it is possible that your screen reader will not find the heading. Check, frame-by-frame to see what content and elements are within each frame. Practice moving through the frames on this page, and see if there are other items. When you are finished, there is a "BACK" link at the bottom of this page that will take you back to the "Internet Lessons" web page.
